A Modern Parable-a Retelling

A Parable-A Retelling

An immigrant from a caravan was traveling from Honduras to the United States, when
he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went
away, leaving him half dead. An officer from the border patrol happened to be
patrolling along the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other
side.
So too, a political leader, when he saw the immigrant, passed by on the other side.
But a Syrian, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him he took pity on him.
He bandaged his wounds, gave him food, water and medicine.  Then he put the man in his borrowed
truck, brought him to his house and took care of him.  The next day he took out a small loan and put up his business as collateral.  'It's all I have he said,' but when I return I will bring you more for any extra expenses I might have and my family will help cover any future expenses.'
Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the immigrant?
